Local builder, Territory Homes, will be one of the first companies to commence residential construction in the new Northcrest Display Village today.
With land titles released just weeks ago, Territory Homes is keen to show Territorians the potential of this new residential address and will start building one of their signature designs.
Halikos Group Managing Director Shane Dignan said the start of residential construction marks a significant milestone in the development of the project.
“For many Territorians, the dream of home ownership will now become a reality,” he said.
“Builders selected for the Northcrest Display Village understand the Territory and our way of life, it is exciting to think that construction of our first house is set to commence and that home buyers will be able to appreciate our vision for this great location.”
With over 31 years experience, Territory Homes are well equipped to design and construct homes for the Top End environment. Their display home is the first in a collection of display homes by a range of Territory builders and will showcase modern design, quality workmanship and premium finishes that Territory Homes are renowned for.
“Northcrest is an opportunity we couldn’t go past,” said Dimitrios Mpilias of Territory Homes.
“We are extremely excited to have become a part of the Northcrest family. Northcrest is really unique, it’s the new hub that Darwin’s been waiting for and we look forward to building many quality homes to establish Northcrest as the ideal place to be,” Mr Mpilias added.
“Home construction at Northcrest will provide a much needed economic stimulus for Territory builders, subcontractors and suppliers,” added Mr Dignan.
“As one of the largest land releases in the Territory, this is a major project which will create up to 3200 local employment opportunities and housing for 7500 Territorians. This project will stimulate the economy over the next two decades”.
“The Northcrest master planned community will provide something special for everyone. Our design includes areas set aside for a school, shopping centre, specialty shopping, restaurants, parklands, offices and commercial and community spaces. The Display Village homes will further demonstrate how Northcrest can be enjoyed by all Territorians at every stage of life, from first home buyer to retiree,” Mr Dignan said.
A number of the Northcrest display builders are also expected to commence construction over the following weeks.
